- Taught students of different nationalities and students with disabilities St. Bernard's Mission School Fall 2019 Visit 3 days - Observed Lakota language lessons - Co-taught physical education periods to majority Native American population - Implemented saying the colors of the carpet balls in the Lakota language ex. grab the "sa" ball (red) - Guided advanced student in Pre-K - 1st grade Montessori setting on how to tell hourly time on a clock - Tutored student in 2nd - 3rd grade room who struggled in math - Assisted and encouraged students in 4th - 5th grade room to practice using dictionaries on their own Special Education Observations Fall 2019 - Conversed and ate brunch with adults with disabilities through Adult Life Ed. The Afterschool Place 2017 - 2019 Team Leader - Directed and guided 2 students with Sensory Processing Disorder in activities with the whole group - Differentiated math problems to students of varying ages and proficiency when picking up from school for "Math Mondays" Practicum I Spring 2019 - Tutored a student with a different nationality and low socioeconomic status learn how to tell time on a clock Rome Semester Fall 2017 - Interacted with people from various cultures (Italian, Austrian, Irish, Scottish, French, Greek, and Czech) - Conversed in Italian with the sisters we stayed with and a man working a gelato business, the latter often with humor |
