I believe education should nurture and care for the whole person in an inviting and inclusive environment that prepares students for success in lifelong learning. Students are not to be filled with information: rather, to be inspired to learn.
I will strive to teach content in a variety of ways in order to meet students' needs as unique learners. Lesson plans will be drafted with responsive teaching in mind using methods of universal design. Students will be guided to encounter the content using a variety of senses to reach visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. Different backgrounds and cultures will be recognized and incorporated in the midst of lessons as well as other efforts toward being a culturally responsive teacher. Our students deserve the best education that we can give them, for each student is worth it.
Here are some ways I have continued learning through places I've visited. I hope to inspire my students to learn throughout their lives as well using these experiences and more.
