My name is Theresa Wanner, and my goal is to follow St. Therese of Lisieux's "Little Way" in my daily life. Mother Teresa lived this way as well and summarized it when she said "Do small things with great love." I will live this way as an educator in all my encounters with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.

"Do small things with great love."
- Mother Teresa of Calcutta |
I was raised in Mandan, ND as the eighth of nine siblings. I have been an aunt for 11 years, and it has only solidified my decision to become a teacher. I have enjoyed multiple teachable moments with my nephews and nieces such as working through words with them when reading or collecting hail stones after a storm to study how they were made in the clouds. I pursued a major in Elementary Education with minors in Special Education and Catholic Studies at the University of Mary. I am currently participating in the Master Teacher Internship Program through UMary pursing a master's as a Special Education Strategist.
Interests
I enjoy reading, drawing, cross-stitching, and making music such as singing and playing the ukulele. Learning new languages has always intrigued me, and I enjoy being resourceful. I redesigned a pin board with available resources in the house as seen in the slideshow. I hope to integrate music and my resourcefulness into my classroom to stimulate learning and provide an aesthetic environment for my students. |
